All the graphics of the Mandelbrot Dazibao were made with Quick-Basic. Why Quick-Basic in 2004?

If you have only elementary notions of programming, you will be able to read all the programs presented on this website. C++ would be really tedious for a large audience.

Basic is very similar to "pseudo-code": if you have more than elementary programming notions, it will be really easy for you to translate the sources into C++ or Pascal.

Quick-Basic is now called "abandonware": you can download and use this complete development environment as is. Quick-Basic is used by thousands of programmers, who appreciate its ease of use. Quic-en-groigne!

As its name tells, Quick-Basic allows fast development: you don't even need to compile your progs to run them. When the logics of an algorithm is more important than the actual performance of the program, then QB is the tool you're looking for.
